These terms apply when a parent or carer uses Maths Rocket and takes out a family subscription. Maths Rocket is provided by SMT NEXT ("we"). By creating a parent account you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.
1. Who can use Maths Rocket
Maths Rocket is a maths practice app for children in Years 1–6. Accounts are created and managed by an adult (a parent, carer, teacher or tutor). Children use the app under that adult's supervision; the grown-up area and the plans are protected by a parent PIN.
2. Your family subscription
- One subscription covers up to 4 children in your family, each with their own profile.
- Plans: Standard (monthly or annual), Max AI Tutor and Max AI Tutor · Advanced. You choose one family subscription. The AI plans include everything in Standard.
- Current prices are shown on our pricing section and at checkout. In the mobile apps, the price shown by Google Play or the App Store applies. Always confirm the price and renewal terms at checkout.
3. Free trial
New families get a 3-day free trial of Standard: every topic, unlimited practice, SATs papers and printable worksheets for up to four children. AI tutor replies are not included in the trial. The trial starts the day your family first practises, including as a guest, and creating an account later keeps the same trial rather than starting a new one. After the trial, a plan is needed to keep learning; there is no free tier.
4. Payment and renewal
- On the web, payments are handled securely by Stripe. In the Android app, they are billed through Google Play (and, when available, through the App Store on iPhone and iPad).
- Monthly plans are a monthly recurring payment. The annual plan is an annual payment, charged in full.
- Every plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
5. Cancelling
- Web (Stripe): Parent Area → Account → Plan & billing → Manage billing, then cancel renewal.
- Google Play: cancel from your Google Play subscriptions (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
- App Store: cancel from your Apple ID subscriptions.
When you cancel, your plan stays available until the end of the period you have already paid for, and does not renew. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Google or Apple under their own policies. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Max, the AI tutor, and fair use
- Built-in hints are available on every plan and work offline. AI replies from Max require an AI plan and an internet connection.
- Each AI plan includes a monthly AI allowance for fair use, and there are daily limits to protect the service. When a plan's monthly AI allowance is reached, Max falls back to the built-in offline hints until the allowance resets the following month. Everything else in your plan keeps working.
- AI replies can occasionally be wrong. Max is a practice aid, not a replacement for a teacher.
7. Using the app fairly
Please use Maths Rocket for your family's own learning. Do not share your account outside your family, try to get around the plan or AI limits, disrupt the service, or misuse Friends rooms. We may suspend an account that does.
8. Your content and data
Your children's progress belongs to you. You can delete a child or your whole account at any time; see delete your account. The app, its questions, artwork and text belong to us or our licensors.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Maths Rocket available and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may update the app and these terms; if a change affects your subscription, we will tell you before it applies, and you can cancel.
